On September 24, 2024, Fady had to pause the launch of our new after-school program for People in Need Institute that was due to begin, as bombing intensified in the Bekaa valley and a bomb landed 1km away from his house.
As more people fled southern Lebanon, many arrived in safer areas such as Zahle and Beirut. Many of them were sleeping on the streets and lacked basic necessities. Fady organized food distribution to the temporarily displaced people in Zahle.
Thanks to all of you for praying for Fady’s distribution effort. On October 10, 2024, he and his team delivered mattresses to Father Fadi’s church, which housed 30 families in need of blankets and mattresses. It was a dangerous trip but we thanked God that they were safe and the mission was successful.
On October 11, 2024, Fady and Elias did a second round of distribution and in total gave away 100 food boxes and 200 blankets and mattresses. The beneficiaries are Christians and Shia Muslims sheltering in two local churches (and its school buildings) who lacked these basic necessities.
By end of November, 2024, there was a 60-day ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel. Fady's team had delivered some much needed aids to those near Baalbek and to the refugee families in Zahle. Many children displaced to the Baalbek area were freezing in cold temperature so the blankets, jackets, and clothing were tremendous blessings. Thanks be to God!
