The Syrian Refugees' Story
During the Syrian civil war, many families, including Christians, fled to Lebanon.
How Are Christians Affected by the War?A Dire Situation
for Teachers and Students
The Lebanese government has gone bankrupt. Schools are closed most of the year and teachers are not getting paid. Both local Lebanese and Syrian refugee children are not receiving proper education.
Announcing the new People in Need InstituteEconomic Crisis in Lebanon
Since the wars broke out in Ukraine and in the Gaza, many foreign NGO workers and missionaries left Lebanon for safety reasons. Donors' attention and their giving also moved out of Lebanon to the war-zones. This created a massive vacuum of unmet needs. Schools and other basic civil infrastructure crumbles.
About the CrisisFood and School
We have raised over US $9000 since April 2021. With the helps of our volunteers, we have supplied food baskets to several hundred families in need; our new Institute will provide afternoon classes to children and support the livelihood of our teachers.
-
Food Distribution
Food distribution is conducted before major holidays to cheer our families up with quality meat and dairy products which have become unaffordable due to inflation and political instability.
-
People in Need Institute
Our Institute provides afternoon classes to Syrian and Lebanese children who are not schooled as a result of government shut-downs.
-
